My name is Azul.
I am an author and illustrator of picture books
for people of all ages and sizes.
I was born in Mexico and now I live in Europe.
My books have been published in Mexico, Argentina, Chile,
Colombia, Brazil, Italy, France, Spain, South Korea, The Netherlands, USA,
Germany, Greece and Sweeden. My stories and drawings have been awarded
in unexpected places around the world
where I have met awesome people and their stories. Most recently,
I received the International Award for Illustration
from the Bologna Children's Book Fair and the Green Island Award
from the Nami Island International Picture Book Illustration Concours
in South-Korea.
I use emotions, memories, and metaphors to tell the stories I imagine.
When I’m not working at my studio, I like to walk around flowers
and to spend a lot of time looking at the sky, enjoying how
by just paying attention we can easily witness the beautiful wonder
of seeing things change.
